What is SAIL?
Steel Authority of India, i.e. SAIL one of the largest steel makers of India that was founded in 1954. SAIL is the leading steel-making company in India with a turnover of Rs. 47,103 crore (FY 10-11). This company manufactures wide variety of steel products and produces steel products for various purposes. SAIL has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country. Basically Sail is the public sector company that is owned and governed by the Government of India. Major plants of SAIL are located at Bhilai, Bokaro, Durgapur, Rourkela, Burnpur (near Asansol) and Salem.
Sail Company is the top highest profit earning corporaates of the country. This company also become the top steel making company of the world with a turnover of 48,681 crore (US$10.71 billion). Eligibility Criteria: -
Education qualification, Age and Health comes under the Eligibility criteria. Before applying online the candidate must know the basic requirements for SAIL recruitment 2012. Candidates are requested to carefully go through the eligibility criteria mentioned below before applying Online.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION:-
The candidate must have the Engineer’s degree of recognized university in any of the discipline:
The Candidates must clear their engineering from any recognized university in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, chemical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Instrumentation, civil and Computer Science with minimum 65 % marks for (Gen/OBC) and 50% in aggregate for SC/ST aspirants. The Candidates who have completed their Masters in any given subjects above with minimum 65% marks in the aggregate (50% in aggregate for SC/ST Candidates) are also eligible.
AGE LIMIT: -
Candidates are advised to check the proper age criteria before applying for SAIL. The minimum age of the candidate is 18 years whereas the maximum age limit is 30 years at the time of filling application form online.
RELAXATION: - The upper age limit of 30 years is relaxable by 5 years for ST/SC and by 3 years for OBC candidates. For the physically handicapped candidates the upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years of age. For departmental candidates the upper age limit shall be 45 years and those domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir from 1/1/80 to 31/12/89 will be allowed by 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
